My window view :(

by admin on Jul.01, 2009, under Uncategorized

So Its around 8 Thursday night and I’m on the phone catching up with my good friend Nick when I look out my bedrrom window to see my chubby neighboor BARE NAKED lying on his bed with his bum in the air. There is no way he doesn’t realize I can see! His window is directly across from mine and not more than 10 feet away!

Brian is Lady Gaga

by admin on Jul.01, 2009, under Uncategorized

I took this pic a few weekends ago. I was out with friends and Brian was doing his amazingly accurate Lady Gaga impressions. Strolling the streets of Williamsburg whether at day or at night is always filled with memorable happenings.

Rooomate Dinner

by admin on Jun.18, 2009, under My Life

Yesterday evening my roomates and I decided to have a Roomate dinner. We have all already gotten to know each other really well but we thought it would be nice to set aside time to officially get to know each other better. Alex made a pine nut sundried tomatoe pasta. He recommended we each write three questions on scraps of paper. We then spent the evening taking turns pulling put the scraps at random and each sharing our answer to the question at hand. It’s was a really great evevning and we shared stories from everything such as what we thought was the scarriest monster to humanities progress in the next 100 years.

My Williamsburg Apartment

by admin on Jun.15, 2009, under My Life, NYC Adventures

Here is the outside of my new apartment building. I live on the top floor. It’s not a fun climb but there are two major perks: 1. Nice legs. 2) Lots of light. 3) Close to the roofdeck. Ok that’s three. (The guy casualy leaning against the front rail is my roommate Adam.)

Dresser from the curb

by admin on Jun.15, 2009, under My Life, NYC Adventures

On our way home from the BBQ at Metropolitan I spotted a dresser on the curb with a “free” sign taped to the top. The dresser was in great condition, solid wood, with it’s original handles. Being that we were a good 12 blocks (1/3 mile) from home I was skeptical the we could carry it. Adam however was encouraging and said he thought we could do it. It was heavy, but we stopped halfway and ate pastries from a Dominican bakery. And so 12 blocks and four stories later I have an awesome new dresser that will probably be moved to many apartments with me in the future.

Laundry in the city = No Fun

by admin on Jun.01, 2009, under My Life, NYC Adventures

Doing laundry in NYC is one of the few things I don’t like about city living. There are those few that have laundry in their apartment but it’s rare. Being that I am overly picky about how my clothes are washed and dried I don’t trust having it done for me. So every other week I have to set aside an entire evevning to do it. Which is where I am blogging right now.

Saturday in Williamsburg

by admin on May.05, 2009, under My Life, NYC Adventures

Wanting to get out for the day Darren and I headed to Williamsburg on Saturday. We shopped at thrift stores. Well actually it would be more accurate to say I shopped while Darren was a good sport and would periodically browse the racks looking for stuff I might like. They were probably some of the best thrift stores I have been to and I found a

handful of items. Being vegetarian I try not to buy leather so when I can find second hand leather shoes I feel it’s a good compromise.

The area was full of small cafes and restaraunts. We spotted one in a rooftop and after checking out the brunch menu decided to stay. It is seriously times like this where I question if any city can rival NYC (well at least any US city.)
